PILOTS and INSTRUCTORs
Thank you for choosing DPEdirect!
STEP 1: After you’ve read through the information on this page, click the “Next” button below.
STEP 2: The next page will show you a map of the continental United States, broken into FAA Flight Standards District Offices (FSDOs) Locate your region (where you will be taking the checkride) and click on the map in that region. You will be re-directed to our scheduling website (DPEdirect @ Genbook.com).
(Please note, as we expand our services to all FSDOs around the country, some regions or DPEs may not yet be available.)
STEP 3: Once on the DPEdirect/Genbook page, select the category of aircraft (airplane or rotorcraft) you’ll be wanting to take your checkride in. Next, select the type of checkride you’ll be scheduled for (private, commercial, etc.). Note, be sure to select the correct class of aircraft also (e.g. ASEL for single engine land, etc.).
STEP 4: Now you’ll see a list of DPEs for your area. Select an appropriate DPE from the list. Note that each examiner has specific aircraft qualifications from the FAA.
STEP 5: Next, find and click on the date desired for your checkride, then find a time slot available. You may have to search a few different days to find a slot that works for both you and the DPE.
STEP 6: Fill in your personal contact information, adding your specific aircraft type (e.g. C172N, PA28R, etc.) in the “special request” window, then click continue.
STEP 7: Confirm your checkride appointment details, then click “Confirm Appointment” if it all looks correct. And you’re done! You’ll receive a confirmation email shortly.
